Marcio Viegas

Marcio Viegas has 20 years of experience in professional services in almost 30 countries: consulting, training, auditing, and the development of international standards and legislation. Within this period: he has dedicated more than 15 years to sustainability and he has more than 10 years of leadership experience as a manager. Marcio has a background in Civil Engineering, is an expert in environmental management and has a Master in Hydraulic/Environmental Engineering from the University of Sao Paulo (Brazil), combined with an MBA from the IE Business School and experience on social issues acquired during his career and projects in Africa and South America, among others. He has a successful experience in the management and growth of multinational companies. Marcio has lived in Sao Paulo, London and Madrid and has traveled to over 60 countries. He speaks English, Spanish and Portuguese fluently, in addition to an intermediate French.
Marcio is the author of several articles and has lectured several presentations on climate finance, green bonds, social bonds, carbon markets and others. He represents SUST4IN in the group that develops the Green Bond Principles (ICMA, London), Caring for Climate, SASB, Climate Forum and other initiatives.
